In 1977 Dr Jan Vanleeuwe was the first doctor to start a general practice in Moorsel on the Moorselstraat. Real residential areas grew up in the small village center of Moorsel. The social residential area on Groenlaan in the direction of Vrebos and Everberg also increased the population of Moorsel considerably over the years. The residential areas are sometimes referred to as dormitory areas. This is because many expats/european officials who work / were working in Brussels were not active in village life during the day. In any case, the increase in population led to a greater need for doctors. After ten years, a young colleague doctor, Dr Dercon Ann, joined Doctor Vanleeuwe for her training. Afterwards they decided to enter into a definitive partnership. Two other doctors established in the neighborhood, each practicing solo practice: Dr Jans Johan and Dr De Pelecijn Luc. In addition to general practice, Dr Vanleeuwe was among other things active in the association for cystic fibrosis and he also performed preventive examinations in the center for preventive medicine 'Medicis' 236 Avenue de Tervuren 1150 Brussels (Sint-Pieters-Woluwe).

Due to the growth of the surrounding villages such as Sterrebeek, Vossem, Everberg, patients from these villages also found their way to the GP practice.

In 2016 Dr Dercon and Dr Vanleeuwe added a general practitioner in training with the intention of reducing the workload somewhat and possibly. Dr. Darius Alexandra joined. She completed her training but decided to set up her own practice elsewhere with the experience she gained here. In 2018, Dr Schuermans Alexander, another young general practitioner in training, joined. After 40 years of practice, Dr Vanleeuwe decided to phase out the work and they looked for a fourth doctor. Doctor Verburgh Corneel joined the team in October 2019. After supporting both young colleagues for another year together with Dr Dercon and teaching some final tricks of the trade, Dr Vanleeuwe decided to retire at the end of August 2020. The practice is still carried on by the colleagues at the same address under the name 'Medimoorsel'.
